Branding Case Study: Film in Scotland

What is Film in Scotland (FIS)?
FIS was a movement started by Scottish actors and film makers with the goal of bringing together the Scottish film community. Many films set in Scotland are film not using Scottish actors or locations and the founders wanted an organization to showcase Scottish actors and film locations. FIS was set up to help promote using, setting up a membership and awarding funds to upcoming film projects. It closed after a few years due to unrelated Facebook group politics but I include it because it was a very enjoyable project, and we achieved all the goals we set out to with it.

The Logo
The logo consisted of quite simply the Scottish flag, designed to look like film tape. As a national organization we needed it to have a clean clear message. Part of the word industry was faded slightly to allow the message ‘Film In Scotland’ to stand out – one of the key goals.

The Website
The website provide a paid membership system and a private area where members only could access extra content and contests. The clients were incredibly happy with the site, the functionality and the budget we achieved it in.
“The website was brilliant, so nice to look at, navigate through and user friendly. Glowbug Design is good at listening to what people want and interpreting that.”
